The results are in...

I forgot in the last post to share Olivia's results from her CAT-2 tests...they were great...which so helps me!
She scored around 95th percentile in everything and for her complete battery mark as well. The only one that was lower was math computation 57th percentile (which I was glad to see actually) and one of the Language Arts ones was 77th percentile. It is good for them to score closer to the average on some stuff, otherwise I worry that we are not doing them right, or not scoring them right, or that they are not an accurate measure. I know that Olivia does well academically, but I don't want it to be so crazy high on everything...so the two lower marks are good, because it shows that she is still working above average, but that she does make mistakes!
These marks are very consistent with the marks she got when we did standardized tests in Grade 3. This also makes me feel better about them - they should remain consistent!
So now to decide if we are done school for the summer, or going to try and carry on????
The trouble is that there are things that can only be done in the summer when we have an extended break - things that mostly fall under the housework category. So much of the year is spent giving the house "a lick and a promise" that in the summer some real cleaning can happen. Closets, cupboards, mirrors, bookshelves...these things can only be tackled by someone like me, with my personality and the way my brain works when I have long periods of time for them to be completed. I clean those areas by messing everything COMPLETELY up (taking everything out for example) washing the cupboard or drawer, and then restoring only the things I want back in there...that can simply NOT happen during the regular course of the year! I tackled the bottom 3 shelves of the girls' bookcase the other day and even Olivia commented on how nice it looks when all the books go from tallest to shortest!
I reserve the right to decide on this later!
Have a good summer day, wherever you are!
