Happy birthday to Amelia....

2 seems awfully old, doesn't it? Later I will try to post the link to a video of Greg shooting at the guy's night out last Friday. He tagged along with the guys from Clay's care group to go to the shooting range! They had a fun time.

Skatin', skatin'

Yesterday Olivia spent the afternoon at Dallas Valley Ranch Camp at a Winter Fun Day...which I was pretty sure she was going to jump out of her skin before we even got there, she was so excited! Anyway, she had a lot of fun...and Grace was kind of sad...that is - until Daddy decided they should finally get some time in on the rink!

So here are some pictures of her first skating experience...and if you click on the 'Videos' link to the right, you will find 2 short videos of her skatin, skatin!

and here she is - enjoying hot chocolate with marshmallows and cookies once she came in! A true celebration! Just as a side note - her cheeks stayed pink for probably 3 hours! LOL!!!

Yes, Olivia was very brave, and not only did she let Uncle Clay remove her stitches with not even a whimper, but she even conceded to sit in the middle of the living room and let us all watch!

She is amazing!

Yes, these pictures are over a week old...sorry about that. Here are a couple more from that night. It was SUPPOSED to be a surprise supper for ME and Clay...well I was at least supposed to be surprised, I don't think Clay was...anyway, I knew we were going for supper, but I didn't know anything else, and my husband spilled the beans in the driveway. I guess, in his defence, he assumed I would know it was Stew and Betty's car in the driveway...but I mean really, how long have we been together? I wouldn't have even thought about it! LOL! I knew that Tracy's friend Donna was coming (I assumed it was her car, after barely glancing at it), and that we were having cake for Clay's birthday, but I knew nothing of mom and dad coming, it was pretty funny!

You may not know that Clay and Tracy bought an AMAZING table, that would host everyone on their block probably...so we all benefitted by eating at it! We all fit very well, there was 12 of us altogether! It is a great table! Not many houses would even have a big enough dining area for it, but they have the perfect amount of space for it!

Our first major injury

And really it was pretty minor!
10 days ago (I know it takes me forever to keep you updated!), Olivia was trying to cut open a bag of candy...with a steak knife...and cut her finger. I don't know if I have ever seen arterial bleeding before, but it was kind of neat. She can get her stitches out today, but she may have to wait until tomorrow, because we won't be seeing Uncle Clay today, and he is the one who is going to remove them for her!

It is great having a registered nurse as an uncle. For her, because she is not nearly as worried about it hurting if Uncle Clay is going to do it, and for me, because I don't have to sit at the medi-centre for 400 hours!

Uncle Clay was going to remove them last night when everyone was here for birthday cake, but I told Olivia she should wait. Poor Sarah was too sick to even keep her eyes open, and that is the kind of thing she would really love!

Anyway, now you know.............don't use a steak knife to open a Hallowe'en sized bag of Swedish Berries!

So, a couple of weeks ago, I spent a few minutes skimming past entries in this lovely blog...I completely forgot that the actual first reason for starting the Homeschool Journal was because I turned 30 last year (see..the memory is going already!). So anyway, I remembered how much fun our KONOS unit on Attentitiveness was, I laughed as I remembered Amelia calling 911, I recalled the excitement as we anticipated Uncle Blake and Aunty Kori's arrival in Calgary, and I relived the excitement at following God through the sale of our home in Calgary and our move to Regina.
Over the past two weeks since I reviewed previous entries, I have been pondering if I should continue my blog. I have been fairly inconsistent at posting, and often need to be reminded by those who want updates on my kids...and originally I had planned to chronicle my FIRST year in my 30s, not necessarily the next one!
So, to the title...what to do? What to do?
Drumroll, please (yes, we all know that I am overly dramatic!)
I am going to try to keep up better! I might as well go on, as I feel this is such a growth time in my life, or at least it could be if I let it...and even just re-reading past entries has inspired me to plan another KONOS unit for this term, not just use our boring workbooks! Especially since if I do it now, and not later as I get closer to the birth of Mile baby #4, it may actually get done, where as if I put it off...who knows! The closer a women gets to birth, the closer she gets to standard procedure where everything else is concerned - including homeschool! So, without further ado, here are some cute pics of the kids, and I will update our new unit on ORDERLINESS tomorrow!

Brain waves during Mindball - I was player 2, Olivia was player 1, the object is to move the ball with your mind...by relaxing. We are not really sure who won. If the object is to get the ball to roll to you, then Olivia won twice, but if you are supposed to make the ball roll away from you, then I won twice! LOL!!!
