Here is Abbey in her bed in NICU. Because I had morphine (or maybe demerol) within 2 hours of her being born they took her to NICU for observation. She looked so cute all bundled up with the little monitors on her. They let me keep all the sensors and even her tiny littly blood pressure cuff! Very cute! By the time I got to see her in there, she had already had a bath and within a few hours, the on call pediatrician came and confirmed she was fine and could come to my room.

As you can see we are comparing foot size between Amelia and Abbey. It was such a weird thing. Thursday when I went to the hospital, Amelia was small, and Friday when they came to visit me and Abbey, she was a GIANT! I know it is all about perspective, right? It made me a little sad regardless! My 'baby' isn't the baby anymore - and she still seems so little. Although physically she seems so big and solid and GIANT compared with her new baby sister! Very strange!

Thanks for all your prayers, she is doing very well. When the public health nurse was here on Monday, she had already gained weight since we left the hospital on Saturday! She sleeps well, and only gets a little fussy late in the evening!
We are supposed to be going on holidays next week - and with the way things are going so far, I am totally confident in taking her camping!
I will post more pics later this afternoon (hopefully)!

Nope, still here, no baby...at least not yet.

So I will entertain you with some other pics - we went to Wiserider day last weekend, where Amelia saw Franklin the Turtle live! She thought it was good - but I think it was a little sureal for her!

It was kind of neat - an event like that in Calgary would have been so crowded and crazy, we likely would not have even considered going - even if Amelia's favourite character WAS there! But here the crowd was manageable. It was busy but not crazy. I am so looking forward to the Buffalo days parade - my kids have never been to a parade - because the Stampede parade is JUST TOO CRAZY! But this year we should be able to go - that will be great!

I will get Olivia to take a picture of me later with my overdue belly for those of you in Calgary, who can't see me in person. I just have to muster up the energy and desire to put some makeup on! LOL!!!

Just to be sure....

I had a headache...and some swelling in my feet and ankles, so under advice of Tracy and the Healthlink nurse we went in for a fetal assessment - I am not in labour. And my blood pressure is not high so they did not induce me...(Obviously as I am here posting these pictures). We got everything checked...all is well...I am STILL overdue, and go back to the doctor tomorrow.
Here my husband is reminding me of how you almost NEED to go in one time before hand, just for a dry run! This was before the nurses and doctors forgot about us and we ended up waiting for someone to come and let us go for more than an hour! Oh well, simulates reality, labour rarely happens at a convenient time.
This is my husband/coach practicing his role in the drama that will eventually at some time unfold! Okay, so he likely won't spend all of his time trying to sleep in the recliner, but likely we will find him there when the real deal happens!

There are no pictures of us coming home after 2:00 a.m. - my poor hubby was pretty tired this morning, but I will let him go to bed early tonight (hopefully).

Yes, Amelia has a new "big-girl bed". If you go to the video link you can see a little clip of her helping daddy put it together - it is hard to hear her say it, but she says "big girl" like it is one word! VERY cute!

The other girls also got to have their bunk beds stacked again (which they have been asking for for over a month) and they have a new roomie!

Last night was the second night Amelia spent in her bed and she did really great! The first night she came into my room at about 2, but she had a hug, a pee, and a drink and went right back to bed. Last night I thought it would be more difficult because she fell asleep on the way home from Aunty Tracy's at 6:30 and then slept on the couch until 8:00. But she got up, had some snuggles, ate some supper warmed up - and was just in a hurry to get her teeth brushed so she could go to bed! As soon as the girls were getting their teeth brushed, she was in a big hurry! So, she brushed her teeth, got her jammies on, we read Curious George and she went to sleep. I did wake up to her on my side of the bed, but it was after Daddy had left for work, so that is all good. Once Daddy is gone - his side is available for me to move over to! LOL!!!

Just for clarification - Grace gets the top bunk this time! Olivia thinks maybe they should switch every month - but I am thinking maybe every FEW months! Grace loves having the top bunk! She is so big!

What a month! My sister got married, we had another wedding to attend, Greg ripped out the cedars in our front yard and we have made the front look totally new - whew! And the reality is that in order to come downstairs and post to the blog - I have to be willing to come downstairs (which then requires returning UP!!!) Anyone who has carried a baby will know that the prospect of going downstairs is fine - but going back up is not really an appealing option!

This picture and post is specifically for my sister in law - and I will be posting before and afters of the outside of our house!

Weekends are not long enough - let me tell you! Oh well, we have gotten it done (okay, so mostly GREG got it done) and it looks amazing! No more pink door is all I am going to say!
