Yes, I bought it! ONLY because there is a Canadian distributor of it and he was there (at the Winnipeg conference), and I saved about $50 off what I would have paid by ordering it online myself. Now I just have to wait for it to get here! It looks like it is right up our alley, so I am excited about it!
We had a great time in Winnipeg. I think I have decided that homeschooling families should have to go to conference at least every second year, just to be reminded of what it is exactly that we are trying to do! What a great time of encouragement and refreshing! Besides, we got to eat at the Olive Garden, so how could it have been bad?
I have heard rumors that next year the Saskatchewan conference will be in Regina for the first time. I hope it is true....it would be easier than leaving all the kids - although my MIL and FIL are pretty great - the kids had a great time (with only a moderate amount of crying). I heard that my child only caused one restless night (which probably could have been avoided if I had taken the playpen), so that is pretty good. It was a HUGE blessing to be able to go and know that all of our kids were in a safe place...physically, emotionally and mostly spiritually! Thanks again, guys!
It was my first time in Manitoba....not that I saw much of it...but it was Manitoba all the same. Which means that my world is now officially bigger than it was a month ago! Yeah for me!
I bought a lot of curriculum, including a little Canada study which we started yesterday (we are going to whiz through it over the next couple of weeks) and a Greenleaf guide to Old Testament History which we started last week. It is really neat. This week we charted the generations from Adam to Noah and discovered that Adam didn't die until Noah's dad was 56 years old....adds a lot of confirmation that Lamech likely got much of the story of life before and after the Fall right from Adam himself! I thought it was pretty cool!
Anyway I have to sign off, but stay warm wherever you are!
Blessings,
C
