Tachycardia - again

I want to be sure to put all of these episodes down somewhere, so that at some point I will be able to write them in a book for Abbey - if I ever get around to it! (Let's not talk about how far behind I am on baby books, okay?)
So on October 23, a full 2 months to the day after the last episode - she went in again. I was talking to my friend Carol from Calgary on the phone, and telling her about how this has come about. Anyway, I realized that I hadn't checked Abbey in a few hours so I thought I better check. Sure enough, it seemed awfully fast, so I hung up the phone and listened more carefully.
My sister was here, so she agreed to stay with the kids, and I took Abbey in to the emergency room, after estimating her heart rate at about 240. It was 240, and again, they couldn't seem to get an IV line in. Finally they called a neo-natal nurse, and she was able to access a vein on the right side of Abbey's head, so yes, they gave her a new bald spot!
This was the first time she has needed adenosine to slow her heart since she was 2 weeks old.
I am glad she sees the cardiologist in a couple of weeks.
Once her heart rate was slowed to normal, I would have liked to be able to get some pictures of her IV in her head. I think I might have to buy a disposable camera that can stay in the diaper bag. I want her to know when she is grown up what this was like, I want her to understand it as best she can....it is part of the testimony of her life. When she is still having a crazy heart rate, I am just focused on them bringing it back to normal, but once it is normal, I would like to have some pictures!
She is growing, and happy! I took a great video of her this morning chewing on her feet! I need to have a camera with me at all times! The girls have discovered that she is indeed ticklish, and will respond by giggling when they tickle or squeeze her! She also will giggle if you kiss her all over her cheeks! It is very sweet!
I was realizing today that she is technically old enough to start pablum, although I don't think she needs to, so we won't be yet. She is quite content with nursing and sleeps well, so we have no issues with that! But isn't it crazy that she COULD start on solids? She is supposed to be a baby! Time marches on, I guess!
My sister-in-law who lives in Calgary is due with her first baby in a couple of weeks. I would love go to visit, but won't likely be able to until the new year. I don't want to go without Greg, and he is in school.
He had his first day yesterday and it was going all good, until they burst his happy bubble (as he put it) by talking about a math class! LOL! He will do fine I am sure, but it was funny to hear him say that! He found his aunt's house fine, and she has a long distance package so we can still talk! LOL! Good thing!
We are going to Moose Jaw on Wednesday for the Splish Splash Hallelujah Bash, which is a Hallowe'en alternative put on by our homeschooling support group. There is a potluck type supper and then families can go swimming and watersliding if they so choose! Greg can run up the waterslide steps, I think I will stay and socialize instead!
Well, I have to go finish the 3 cards I started last night! If I ever find my camera, I will put some new pictures on here!
